The City of South El Monte will host its April Night Market on Thursday, April 16, bringing live music, local vendors, and family activities to the community.
The event will run from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at 1459 Santa Anita Ave., according to the city’s Community Services Department. Organizers said the South El Monte Night Market aims to provide a space for residents to gather, shop, and enjoy live entertainment.
A live performance by the band Suave will headline the evening. The group is scheduled to perform during the event, offering music for attendees throughout the night.
Family Activities And Local Vendors Highlight Event
City officials said the South El Monte Night Market will include a variety of attractions for all ages. Local vendors will offer food, goods, and services, while a designated kids fun zone will provide activities for younger attendees.
A beer garden will also be available for adults. Organizers said the event is designed to support local businesses while creating a welcoming community atmosphere.
One of the featured activities is a free “Pooch Derby,” scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The race invites small dogs to compete in a lighthearted dash to the finish line. Participation is limited to dogs weighing 20 pounds or less or shorter than one foot in height.
Residents can register their pets in advance through the city’s event link or by scanning a QR code included in promotional materials.

The South El Monte Night Market continues to grow as a recurring community event. City officials said it reflects ongoing efforts to activate public spaces and increase resident engagement.
In addition to entertainment and vendors, the event will feature a free produce stand as part of the city’s Healthy South El Monte initiative. The program promotes access to fresh food and encourages healthier lifestyles.
