San Gabriel Pet Licensing Services Expand

|

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has launched new pet licensing services for residents in San Gabriel and Temple City through a partnership with DocuPet.

The San Gabriel Pet Licensing Services program officially began May 1 and allows residents to register pets online through a new digital platform. Officials said the service aims to simplify licensing, improve access, and help reunite lost pets with their owners faster.

Under the updated system, San Gabriel residents may license dogs and voluntarily register cats. Temple City residents may license dogs through the new portal. Both cities require proof of rabies vaccination before licenses are issued.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society, residents can choose one-year or two-year licensing options that align with rabies vaccine expiration dates.

San Gabriel Pet Licensing Services Launch Online

The humane society said the online system allows pet owners to upload vaccination records, manage renewals, and maintain pet information in one location. Each license tag also includes access to HomeSafe, DocuPet’s 24-hour lost pet recovery service.

Officials said the partnership modernizes the licensing process while helping cities maintain accurate vaccination and pet registration records.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society serves San Gabriel and Temple City, while Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. oversees animal services administration connected to the licensing platform. The organizations said the transition is intended to create a more accessible experience for residents seeking pet licenses online.

Pet licensing remains legally required for dogs in most Los Angeles County communities. Animal welfare officials say licensing helps identify lost animals, supports vaccination compliance, and assists shelters when reuniting pets with owners.

The launch comes as animal shelters and humane organizations continue encouraging responsible pet ownership across the San Gabriel Valley. Officials also stress the importance of keeping vaccination records current and ensuring pets wear updated identification tags.

Community Access And Animal Services

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society describes itself as a nonprofit organization focused on shelter, medical care, and protection for homeless and abandoned animals. The organization serves residents in San Gabriel, Duarte, and Temple City.

Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. provides services for several surrounding cities, including Covina, Claremont, Pomona, and San Dimas.

Residents seeking more information about licensing services may visit San Gabriel Valley Humane Society or access the DocuPet Licensing Portal for online registration.

Officials encourage pet owners in both cities to review local licensing requirements and update pet records as the new system becomes fully operational.
