El Monte Parent Volunteers received districtwide recognition during a luncheon hosted by the El Monte Union High School District on April 30. The event honored families who support campuses through volunteer service, student activities, and parent engagement programs across the district.
District officials welcomed volunteers from multiple campuses for an afternoon celebration that featured live mariachi music, folklórico performances by Rosemead High School students, catered meals, and customized swag bags. Administrators praised parents for helping strengthen school culture and student success throughout the year.
The luncheon highlighted the district’s ongoing effort to recognize parents as active partners in education. Volunteers often assist during school events, academic programs, cultural celebrations, athletics, booster organizations, and outreach activities that connect families with campuses.
Supervisors and school leaders thanked parents for contributing time and support to programs that directly impact students. Officials said parent involvement helps create welcoming environments and improves communication between schools and families.
El Monte Parent Volunteers Support Campus Communities
Across the district, parents participate in Parent Teacher Student Association groups, advisory committees, workshops, and volunteer programs tied to student achievement and campus engagement. Many also assist during registration events, graduations, financial aid nights, and student recognition ceremonies.
District leaders have repeatedly described parent participation as an important part of student success. Programs such as the district’s Parent Involvement Academy provide workshops in English, Spanish, and Mandarin to help families better understand college preparation, mental health resources, and graduation requirements. More information about the academy is available through California School News.
Education researchers continue to link parent involvement with stronger attendance, improved academic performance, and higher graduation rates. School officials also note that visible parent participation often improves campus morale and encourages stronger student engagement.
During the luncheon, folklórico dancers from Rosemead High School performed traditional routines as mariachi musicians played for attendees throughout the event. Volunteers also received commemorative gifts and district merchandise as part of the celebration.
The district serves communities including El Monte, South El Monte, Rosemead, and nearby areas in the San Gabriel Valley. Officials said the appreciation event reflected the district’s continued commitment to family engagement and community partnerships.
El Monte Parent Volunteers remain central to many school programs throughout the year. Administrators said their contributions help campuses maintain stronger relationships with families while creating positive environments that support student growth both inside and outside the classroom.
