South El Monte Community Foundation Seeks Applicants

South El Monte Community Foundation leaders are seeking residents interested in community service and nonprofit leadership to fill a vacancy on the organization’s Board of Directors. The South El Monte Community Foundation recently extended its application deadline to June 30, giving interested applicants additional time to apply.

The volunteer position offers local residents an opportunity to help guide charitable programs, fundraising efforts and community partnerships that support families and neighborhoods throughout South El Monte.

Foundation officials said board members play an important role in identifying opportunities and resources that improve quality of life for residents. Directors also help oversee initiatives designed to strengthen community engagement and support local needs.

South El Monte Community Foundation Board Role

The South El Monte Community Foundation supports a variety of programs and projects across the city. Among its initiatives is LoveSEM.org, a partnership that provides residents with access to free estate planning documents and resources intended to help families protect assets and prepare for the future.

Board members work with fellow directors and community partners to advance the foundation’s mission. Responsibilities include supporting fundraising activities, helping develop community programs and identifying new opportunities to expand services available to residents.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, registered to vote in California and committed to serving the South El Monte community. The position is unpaid and focused on volunteer leadership.

Foundation leaders encourage residents with a passion for public service and community involvement to consider applying for the vacancy.

Application Process Extended Through June 30

Applications are available through the City of South El Monte. Interested residents may pick up an application at City Hall, located at 1415 Santa Anita Ave., during regular business hours from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Completed applications may be mailed, submitted in person at the City Hall reception desk or emailed to the city clerk’s office.

Officials extended the deadline to allow additional time for residents to learn about the opportunity and participate in the application process. The foundation hopes to attract candidates who bring diverse experiences and a strong commitment to community service.

Residents selected to serve on the board will have an opportunity to help shape future projects and initiatives that benefit local families, seniors and community organizations.
