El Monte Union Graduates Celebrate Major Milestone

|

More than 1,850 students across the El Monte Union High School District celebrated a major milestone this spring as they received diplomas and prepared for the next chapter of their lives.

The El Monte Union Graduates of the Class of 2026 crossed commencement stages during ceremonies held throughout the district, marking the end of their high school journeys and the beginning of new opportunities in higher education, career training, military service and the workforce.

Graduation ceremonies honored students from Arroyo, El Monte, Mountain View, Rosemead and South El Monte high schools, as well as Fernando R. Ledesma High School, El Monte-Rosemead Adult School and the Granada Adult Transition Center.

El Monte Union Graduates Prepare For Future Success

District officials said the Class of 2026 represents one of the largest and most diverse graduating classes in recent years. Students earned college scholarships, industry certifications, dual-enrollment college credits and academic distinctions through programs including Advanced Placement courses, Career Technical Education pathways and the California State Seal of Biliteracy.

Many graduates will continue their education at four-year universities and community colleges throughout California and beyond. Others plan to pursue vocational training, enter the workforce or serve in the military.

The accomplishments of the graduating class reflect the educational aspirations of families across El Monte, South El Monte and Rosemead. For many students, earning a diploma represents years of dedication, perseverance and support from parents, teachers and mentors.

District Programs Open Career Pathways

El Monte Union High School District serves thousands of students each year through academic and career-focused programs designed to prepare graduates for life after high school. Students have access to pathways in engineering, health sciences, business, information technology, public service and skilled trades, allowing them to explore careers while completing graduation requirements.

Those opportunities help students gain real-world experience and develop skills that align with workforce needs throughout the San Gabriel Valley and greater Los Angeles region.

Beyond academics, members of the Class of 2026 made lasting contributions through athletics, student government, performing arts programs, campus organizations and community service projects. Their leadership helped strengthen school communities and create opportunities for younger students.

Community Investment In The Future

The success of the Class of 2026 extends beyond individual achievement. Graduates represent the next generation of teachers, nurses, engineers, entrepreneurs, public servants and skilled trades professionals who will help shape the future of the San Gabriel Valley.

District leaders noted that each graduate leaves with experiences and lessons that will support future success while contributing to the region’s economic and civic life. Families unable to attend commencement ceremonies in person were able to participate through livestream broadcasts provided by the district.
